“Closet Appeal”

Monta Ellis brought the Black/Red Air Jordan 13 back to the hardwood

Closet Appeal undoubtedly brings the most excitement to the Kicks On Court column. Why? We know the respective brands send players a ton of player exclusives, iDs and retros throughout the season, but when the athletes bring out shoes from years back, that garners quite a buzz. Monta Ellis has been with AND1 for the majority of his career, but you obviously know which shoes he’s been collecting over the years thanks to on-court showings of the Black/Red Air Jordan 13s and the “Playoff” 11s this season.

If this category means the most you, Monta Ellis definitely has the nod. Wait, a minute – didn’t Nick Young bring the “First Game” Air Zoom Generations, the “Dark Neon Royal” Foams, the “Chamber of Fear” LeBron IIs and the Nike Air Penny IVs to the court in a total of two playoff series? That’s what you call Closet Appeal. Also, a bravo should be given to Jordan Crawford for bringing red 5s out consistently.
