The first model or model(s) for that matter to be discussed within this realm of “team inspired” Air Jordans is obviously the Air Jordan 1. Since its inception back in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 ushered in a new wave of signature lines and changed our viewpoints on the sneaker culture completely.
However, this categorical change doesn’t happen without the iconic play of one Michael Jordan. Throughout his illustrious career he was able to indulge in memorable moments such as his 63-point performance against Boston Celtics during the 1986 NBA playoffs (still an NBA playoff record), which inspired the “Celtic” hue(s) of the Air Jordan 1. In addition, his time against various prominent teams and fan bases, produced models such as the “Knicks” and “Hawks” colorways, respectively.
