Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has undoubtedly dominated our Kicks On Court column this year. Over the past couple of weeks, Young has worn a mixture of highly sought-after sneakers, like the Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite One, and rarely-seen shoes, such as the “Wheat” Nike Air Zoom Generation.

In last night’s home finale for the Lakers, Swaggy P took to the court in the 2012-released “Galaxy” Nike Air Foamposite One. This marks the third time we’ve seen the Galaxy Foams on an NBA court; both Rajon Rondo and Penny Hardaway laced them up during 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend, and Delonte West wore them against Miami during the 2011-2012 NBA season.

Two of the top Kicks On Court Champion nominees, Nick Young and P.J. Tucker, continue to debut new footwear and bring out rarely-seen retros even as the NBA season winds down. Last night, both players wore headline-worthy sneakers in their respective losses to the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors. P.J. Tucker, an avid wearer of Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoes, debuted a Court Purple-based Nike Kobe 9 EM, which also feature yellow eyelets and white accents in the form of the Nike/Kobe branding and outsole. Tucker stated that this isn’t the last of his Kobe debuts, as he has plans on debuting the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low HTM before the regular season ends or in the playoffs should the Suns make the cut.
As for Nick Young, just one week after sporting the “Wheat” Nike Air Zoom Generation, Swaggy P opted to bring out the “Wheat” Air Jordan 13, his second wear of the Air Jordan 13 this season (he wore the Air Jordan 13 Low White/Black-Varsity Maize at the end of January).

Nick Young, a Nike athlete, has spent most of the season in various signatures from Kobe’s line, but the Los Angeles guard occasionally laces up some Air Jordans we rarely see on court. Jordans, such as the “Doernbecher” Air Jordan 2, the Air Jordan 13 Low White/Black-Varsity Maize and the “Lightning” Air Jordan 4, are rare but were worn by Swaggy P this season. Last night, Young added to that list by breaking out the white “Pure Money” Air Jordan 3.

Nick Young’s footwear has remained one of the lone bright spots in the Los Angeles Lakers’ nightmare season. Since returning from his knee injury about two weeks ago, Young has worn everything from custom sneakers to 11-year-old LeBron shoes. In yesterday’s loss to the neighboring Los Angeles Clippers, Young scored 17 first-half points in his debut of the highly-anticipated Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite One. Swaggy P’s debut of the collaborative Foam comes three days after he mentioned that he would wear them on court by way of his personal Instagram account.

With debuts of the Nike Kobe 9 Low EM, the Air Jordan 3 “5Lab3,” the Nike Kobe 9 Elite and now this Supreme x Foamposite One, should Young be crowned the 2014 Kicks On Court Champion already? In addition to Young, check out more NBA Green Week sneakers from the likes of DeMarcus Cousins, who brought out a three-year-old LeBron shoe, and Jeremy Lin, who debuted a low-top adidas silhouette.

During the month of April, the NBA collaborates with the National Resource Defense Council (NDRC) to bring an emphasis towards protecting the environment. The partnership produces Green Week, a designated seven consecutive days in which NBA players wear mainly green apparel, including headbands, socks, warmups and of course, sneakers. Over the past few years, player have used the aforementioned week to bring out player exclusives, the latest releases and green-based sneakers from their personal collections.

On the first night of NBA Green Week, Lakers guards Nick Young, Kendall Marshall and Kent Bazemore took to the court in various green shoes. Specifically, Young laced up the 2007-released “Doernbecher” Air Jordan 2, while Marshall debuted the soon-to-be-released “Green Snakeskin” Air Jordan 11 Low. Bazemore, along with Stephen Curry and Will Barton took to the court in green Under Armour Anatomix Spawn PEs, while Carmelo Anthony rocked a new, predominately green Jordan Melo M10.
