Fila Ninety6 Phoenix Colorway Detailed Shots
We showed you a shot of the new Fila Ninety6 Phoenix Suns Colorway a couple days ago, but now we’ve got detailed shots for you.
The classic Fila has now been seen in a number of colorways, featuring a couple from Reed Space, the iconic white/navy colorway that Finishline and the Phoenix colorway. We can only hope to see a couple more versions, in say, home and away Orlando Magic colorways. These kicks are set to hit retailers soon, including Fila.com for $90. Is the classic white and navy colorway untouchable or would you rack these up to date team colors of the Fila Ninety6? Via SoleBlvd. |
Fila Ninety6 Phoenix Suns Colorway
Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway have shared similar career paths in the form of both basketball and sneakers, some of the hottest signature shoes and plague of injuries, constantly sending them to the injured list. With the recent Miami Heat colorway of the Air Penny 2, that left us hoping for colorways of other stops in his career, it seems Fila read our minds.
The Fila Ninety6 Phoenix Suns Colorway comes in a grey upper with purple and orange accent colors, surprisingly close to Hill’s current team, the Phoenix Suns. We know Fila probably can’t lure Grant away from his Nike contract, but bringing back the classic retro in his latest team’s colorway is definitely a valiant effort. Via Complex. |
Fila x RSole High Black Patent
RSole has locations in both St Louis, as well as Memphis, and have teamed up with Fila for the Fila x RSole High Top.
A unique approach on these kicks, these Fila kicks feature black patent leather and gold accents. If the black patent alone doesn’t, the Croc-skin like print and a high tongue will definitely break some necks. These kicks drop on December 12th at RSole in St. Louis and Memphis, but only 72 pairs are available so get there early. Fila on the come back? Let us know after the jump. Reed Space x Fila Ninety6
Jeff Staple, creator of the notorious Pigeon Dunks, and founder of Reed Space, has teamed up with Fila on the Ninety6 to create new colorways of the sneaker formerly known as the Grant Hill 2, the Reed Space x Fila Ninety6.
New colorways include a Reed Space hometown favorite, the New York Knicks colorway featuring white, orange and blue. The classic white, navy and red colorway will be available with Reed Space touches. Last but not least, the flashiest of all is the CMYK color separation version. Reed Space chair logo on the heel, and branding on the heel and tongue set these apart from the standard issue Fila Ninety6. A matching backpack will also be released, but no word on a release date yet. Check out all colorways of these legendary basketball shoes after the jump via Staple / Sneaker News. |
Fila Ninety6 “Grant Hill 2″
The Fila Ninety6 “Grant Hill 2″ has arrived at Finishline. Now that Grant Hill is with Nike, Fila has decided on the name the Ninety6, as in the year the originals released.
The Fila Ninety6 was one of the biggest reasons, if not the reason that Fila has been able to survive as a company. For a lot of us b-ball cats, these were one of the shoes that made us think outside the Swoosh for the first time. Grant Hill, and the Ninety6, had a following like no other, even the late great Tupac was seen sportin’ these kicks in his All Eyez On Me album insert. Check the photos after the jump, including the famous 2Pac photo. [Click Here] to get them at Finishline for $89.99. Thanks to DailyDrop for the heads up. |
Fila x Wu Tang Clan Boots
The Infamous Wu-Tang Clan of Staten Island by way of Brooklyn are nothing to F-wit. Collaborations with the Clan have always been classic releases for companies like Nike and Alife. Last year Fila got together with the swordsmen to bring back some old school low tops. This time around the Wu get you ready for winter with these boots made out of premium rubber and leathers. Word is they are dropping very soon so be on the look out as it’s a cold world out there. Pictures courtesy of Zozoresort . |
Premium Goods x Fila Original Tennis

Just a month ago Premium Goods released their first sneaker collaboration, the Premium Goods Nike Zoom Kobe 1. This week, their special make up with Fila will hit the streets. The shoes will release this Friday, September 5th, but the day before Fila will be hosting an event at their flagship store. Get the details after the jump about the event.
Several months ago we spoke to Clarance of Premium Goods about this project and gave us this insight about the inspiration for the colors and materials of the sneaker.
The Fila Tennis Classic was one of the first shoes at the $200 in the 1980’s. The other shoe was Gucci, the style that inspired Jay Z for his first S.Carter. For the colors I wanted to pay homage to both high priced shoes including Gucci, the Italian colors, and black pride.
The upper has a sort of ballistic style mesh which is to represent a bullet proof vest. Back in the day the drug dealers in Brooklyn went nuts for these kicks and the Guccis at $200.
Something you can’t see from this shot is that they come with three laces (black, green, and red) and all have gold tips as well as an all over repeating print of Brooklyn and Houston on each of the insoles.
