Dig in to the mouth-watering FILA “Famous NY Style Pizza” Collection. FILA called upon iconic pizzerias in New York City to create a collaborative collection that honors the cheesy-goodness of NYC pizza. Five different pizzerias dish their designs that represent their individual borough of New York City.
FILA invited Rubirosa Ristorante, Roberta’s, sLICe Astoria, Louie & Ernie’s, and Lee’s Tavern to create their own pizza sneaker. The collection includes the FILA Original Fitness Ripple, FILA F-13, and FILA Renno silhouettes.
The FILA “Famous NY Style Pizza” Collection releases on July 26, 2022. Take a full look at the pack below. Sizes range from men’s 7-12. Louie & Ernie’s // The Bronx
Louie & Ernie’s uses the FILA Renno to serve up some hot delicious sneakers. This FILA Renno honors the Italian flag with a white, red, and green colorway. Louie & Ernie’s has been serving traditional thin-crust pizza since 1959. The pizzeria’s branding is seen on the tongue and featured on the heel counter. Louie & Ernie’s pizzeria policies, “Sorry, Cash Only” and “No Delivery” are printed on the toe cap, while “Louie & Ernie’s Pizza” appears on the back heel. The sneaker is complete with an outline of the restaurant on the sockliner.
Roberta’s // Brooklyn
Roberta’s is Bushwick’s staple pizzeria. Using the FILA Original Fitness Ripple, the all-white sneaker has an all-over print that features Roberta’s classic red cursive. Other nods to the pizzeria can be seen on the tongue and through a window cutout on the back heel. The sockliner takes inspiration from Roberta’s menu and highlights the pizzeria’s most popular pies.
Rubirosa Ristorante // Manhattan
The Rubirosa Ristorante x FILA Renno honors Manhattan’s neighborhood Italian restaurant on Mulberry Street. Rubirosa has been owned and operated by an Italian-American family since the very beginning. The sneaker comes dressed in a white, orange and gold colorway. The upper features a pop of red and green on the FILA flag, as well as the co-branded Rubirosa Ristorante and FILA logos on the tongue. The restaurant’s outside awning inspires the red lines that appear on both the side of the shoe and the sockliner. As another nod to Rubirosa Ristorante’s founder, AJ, the heel features “one love” atop red, yellow, and green hearts.
sLICe Astoria // Queens
Queens delivers the sLICe x FILA Renno. The sneaker comes hot-n-ready in macadamia, orange, and black — a nod to the sLICe’s signature colors. The pizzeria’s contemporary aesthetic inspires a clean and sleek finish for this sneaker. Both sLICe and FILA branding appear on the tongue, heel, and sockliners, which are feature a continuous graphic pizza print.
Lee’s Tavern // Staten Island
Lee’s Tavern goes for a classic black and white design on the FILA F-13. The sneaker is crafted with tumbled leather and smooth suede. Black details appear on the FILA flag, logo embroidery on the tongue, and “Lee’s Tavern Est 1940” on the upper. The owner’s catchphrase, “What the world needs is pizza and quiet,” appears on the back heel. The restaurant’s Hancock Street corner signage inspires the details on the sockliner.
