Yesterday, we crowned Clippers guard Nick Young the 2012 Kicks On Court Champion. Many of you agreed with our selection, however, some of you didn’t, stating that Paul George, Gilbert Arenas and/or Monta Ellis should have won. Each one of those nominees made strong cases in more than one of our five categories, but it was Nick Young who prevailed over all by ranking high in all five categories. Did you see what we saw in regards to Nick’s kicks on court this season? If not, check out a full gallery of Nick Young’s on court wears and how he made noise in each category throughout the lockout-shortened NBA season.

Also, hear from Nick Young, the man himself, on each category, as he touches on bringing variety to the court, how he found the “Chamber of Fear” LeBron IIs and who he thinks is on his level in regards to kicks on court.

Sneaker Debut

Nike Air Foamposite One “Metallic Red”

Nick Young arguably had the debut of the season when he pulled out the “Metallic Red” Foamposites just days after they released in stores.?”My favorite shoe that I wore on court is definitely the red Foamposites,” said Young, in our recent conversation with him. “I was the first to wear those on court, and they’re one of the best Foams out. I had some good games in those too.”

At the time, these Foams were the hottest release on the shelves (while they lasted), so the steam from this Foam being the ‘it’ shoe at the time helped Nick’s case. He would later fuel one of the biggest playoff comebacks in the history of the NBA while revisiting these against the Grizzlies in the first round. We know you remember that game.
