Today’s lesson started with how we should give and receive (hopefully positive) criticism. When being negatively critiqued, do not simply accept the feedback. Instead, search for possible ways to fix your problem and try to get more detailed information. Always have confidence in your work. As the master Bruce Lee said, “As you think, so shall you become.”

We spent the majority of the morning teaming up with our classmates and exchanging turns pitching our briefs. It was interesting to see how much progress everyone has made in only a week.

The highlight of my morning was when Sese and myself sat down with a journalist from Sports Illustrated for an in-depth interview. It was fascinating to see how genuinely surprised and excited she was about our life stories and our passion for design.

After our interviews, it was back to the grind for the Robot Homies and Beth (who was surprisingly not singing in this photo). Lunch was spent watching Zia visualize his potential victory with the first mockup of the World Sneaker Championship Belt. It took him a few minutes to figure out which way was up.

Since lunch we’ve been going hard. We have to complete eight refined sketches for tomorrow morning. Currently it’s 11:08 and three of us are still standing.

Zia, “Hey Stefan! Where did you go bro? I miss you!”

It has been a productive start to the week. With a few all-nighters in the foreseeable future, I’m willing to bet there will be some people doing pushups very soon.
