“The wall will speak for itself.”
After a wonderful Sunday exploring Portland, we were once again gathered in studio around D’Wayne, who had beat us all there and already inspected the work on the walls. His daily dose of wisdom began the same way as this post: Work will speak for itself when no one is there to explain it, and it’s crucial that the message is considered and clear. Nothing should be taped to the wall without a reason! This not only gets your idea across, but shows respect for others’ time.

Our walls are starting to fill up! Hopefully they give a clear idea of our concepts to anyone who might be walking through the Pensole studio. Jared, team Target designer and our resident skate junkie, passed time as we waited for our train this weekend. The variety of interests and personalities represented in the group is just one awesome part of this Pensole class. Even on the weekend, we can’t seem to get away from shoes! Visiting the Keen store here in Portland opened our eyes to another important aspect of design: how the product looks on the shelf…or how kids’ shoes look on a set of monkey bars, in Keen’s case!
