MC Jin: “That design definitely brings me back to an era in my life. I have the originals, but I had to get a pair when they came back. As a kid, it was Nike, Nike, Nike…then out of nowhere, FILA dropped these Grant Hills and it shifted for a moment. Grant Hill was a beast, definitely still a legend, but at that time in that era he was the man. I think that played a big part because on a basketball level he was definitely someone everybody aspired to be. I think that transcended the fact even though they were FILAs, which weren’t necessarily the go-to sneaker at the time, he definitely caught a lot of people’s attention. But design wise I just liked the aesthetic of the shoe, they were clean and white with that blue trim. They were very sharp.”
