Lakers Bring Nike “Grinch” PEs to the Court on Christmas Day
My favorite moment was when the Los Angeles Lakers all dressed like the Grinch on Christmas Day 2010. Kobe Bryant’s Nike Kobe VI is my favorite performance sneaker of all time, and the “Grinch” colorway is probably the most iconic. When I first turned on the prime time game, the Lakers’ green and red shoes instantly caught my attention, and I couldn’t stop looking at them the whole broadcast. The “Grinch” shade of green is dark enough to be Christmasy, but bright enough to stand out. Even though the style code completely contrasts LA’s team colors, somehow it flows perfectly. This is also my favorite Kicks On Court moment because the entire team bought in and matched their sneakers, old-school team bank style.
