Name: SSgt James Francis
Branch: United States Air Force
Years in the Service: 5
Originally From: San Francisco, CA
Currently Stationed: Ramstein Air Base, Germany
Nice Kicks: What five sneakers are in your current rotation?
SSgt Francis: Air Jordan 11 “Concord”, Air Jordan 5 “Grape”, Air Jordan 7 “Raptors” and “Bordeaux”, and Air Jordan 4 “Cement”

Nice Kicks: Do you notice a difference in kicks worn in the various places you have been stationed, visited, or people you come in contact with being in the military?
SSgt Francis: Yes, every place I have been, including back home, I’ve see everyone rocking different things. With me being from the Bay Area, a lot of cats were rocking Vans and Jordans. Then, when I went to Korea, I was able to see a variation of kicks from LeBrons to Jordans to Foams.

Nice Kicks: What sneaker would you consider your grail or a shoe you regret missing out on?
My white/varsity red (Air Jordan) 14 were my grail because of what they represent to me, but the shoe I regret missing out on are the “Citrus” (Air Jordan) 7.
Nice Kicks: Has being in the military helped or hurt your ability to cop the shoes you want?
SSgt Francis: The military has sent me to places like Korea and Germany where I met a lot of sneaker heads that were buying and selling kicks constantly.

Nice Kicks: What is the craziest thing you have done for a pair of kicks?
SSgt Francis: The craziest thing that ever happened was when I was trying to pick up my wife’s bred 13’s and a fight broke out in the store and I ended up getting sprayed with mace and didn’t get her the shoes.
