Name: SrA Meredith Dean
Branch: United States Air Force Air National Guard
Years in the Service: 4.5
Originally From: Pineville, LA
Currently Stationed: Lackalnd Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX
Nice Kicks: What sneaker would you consider your grail or a shoe you regret missing out on?
SrA Dean: The Nike LeBron PS Elite “South Beach”. I was going to camp for them but I talked myself out of it. I wish I would have!

Nice Kicks: What is your favorite shoe or model of all time?
SrA Dean: I love the Air Jordan 7 design.

Nice Kicks: What are the advantages/disadvantages of being a woman in the sneaker culture? What would you like to see changed or more of?
SrA Dean: The advantages are definitely the cheaper price, and the availability. I woke up an hour late, but was still able to cop the “Grape” 5 online because I’m GS. Biggest disadvantage is that some male sneakerheads denounce your collection, saying that GS is easy to get compared to men’s sizes. We work hard to get our kicks too! I would definitely like to see more female sneakerheads in the game.
Nice Kicks: What do you attribute your love of sneakers to?
SrA Dean: Growing up, I always wanted to wear sneakers, but my dad wanted me to be more “girly”. I love wearing sneakers because I can be comfortable and stylish at the same time!

Nice Kicks: Has being in the military helped or hurt your ability to cop the shoes you want?
SrA Dean: It has helped. Back in (Pineville) Louisiana we only have one mall. It’s hard to cop when the whole town wants the same shoe! Being stationed in San Antonio has helped me because I have access to several malls. So, my chances of getting a certain pair of kicks are way higher.
