Since officially retiring from the NFL, Victor Cruz has gone on other projects – some of which involve him modeling for various solidified and up-and-coming fashion brands.
During his rise on the New York Giants, Cruz became a solidified sneaker star rocking the latest and greatest from Nike. Due to his skill on the field and swag off of it, Nike even awarded him with his own signature shoe – the Nike Air Trainer Cruz.
Back for a sequel of sorts, his latest endeavor involved teaming up with luxury footwear entity Pierre Hardy for a new signature shoe known as the V.C.I.
Debuting in three different colorways, each aesthetic represents a significant milestone in Cruz’ life. The 1996 offering is representative of the year he fell in love with football, featuring a croc-embossed camo paneling that’s contrasted with teal and burnt orange suede swatches.
The 2006 iteration is figurative of Cruz’ college tenure where he played for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen, featuring a Triple Black makeup with reflective accents that contrast the mesh and suede paneling.
The final variation in the collection is symbolic of the NY Giants’ 2012 Super Bowl win, which was a defining season for Cruz’ career in the NFL.
Victor Cruz x Pierre Hardy V.C.I
Design Director, Pierre Hardy himself took an unconventional approach to help Victor Cruz design this shoe, intentionally trying to make them as expensive as possible when pushing the shoe to its performance-inspired shape.
The Victor Cruz x Pierre Hardy V.C.I is now available at select Pierre Hardy retailers, like SSENSE.
