Upon his arrival into the league, Allen Iverson carried an abundance of intrigue, as his athletic prowess and adverse past dominated the headlines prior to the 1996 NBA draft. With his brief, but prolific career at Georgetown, Reebok clamored at the opportunity to secure the future hall-of-famer by inking Iverson to a then-staggering, 10-year, $50 Million contract.

Success and further notoriety would come rather easy for Iverson, as his stellar play earned him Rookie Of The Year honors as he accumulated a 23.5 point per game average, in addition to tallying 7.5 assists per game during the 1996-97 season.

Despite his impressive rookie statistics, one play in particular reigns supreme within the minds of basketball enthusiasts and sneakerheads alike, as his killer crossover against Michael Jordan during his rookie season still garners much attention.
