Sotheby’s Sets New Record Selling Kanye West’s Grammy Worn Nike Air Yeezy 1 Prototypes To RARES For $1.8M

In a grandiose offering, Sotheby ‘s will be privately auctioning Kanye West’s 2008 Nike Air Yeezy 1 Prototypes. Worn during the 2008 Grammy Awards, West performed several trademark songs, including Hey Mama and Stronger With a value of over $1,000,000, this is Sotheby’s most valuable offering yet.

This specific pair has been offered by renowned sneaker collector Ryan Chang. Interested parties will be able to view the sneaker from April 16-21 in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Additionally, interested parties will be able submit direct offerings to Sotheby’s for consideration.

UPDATE: In a historic selling, Kanye’s 2008 Grammy worn Yeezy 1s have been sold for a record breaking $1.8 million. This was the first sneaker to ever sell for more than $1 million, shattering the previous record by over three times.
