An alleged sneaker thief was caught by police because he didn’t pull his pants up.

According to reports, 18-year-old Taykim Ross stole electronics and a pair of Air Jordan 1 “CP3” shoes from an apartment Monday where he stopped in the backyard to put on his new kicks.  It was at this point when putting on the new shoes that a neighbor snapped a photo of him with his red boxers on display while putting on the shoes.  The concerned neighbor sent the photo to the victim of the burglary who then sent it to police.

After looking at the photo, Hempstead Village Office Russell Harris says he was returning from checking out the neighborhood when he noticed someone in his rearview mirror (no pun) taking out the garbage who happened to be showing on display his bright red underwear.

Officer Harris confronted the teen who was later arrested on second-degree burglary charges.
