North Carolina A&T Aggies

Years Sponsored: 1997-Early 2000s
Notable Players: Larry Jordan

Of the three initial teams to receive Jordan Brand sponsorships prior to the 1997-98 season, easily the most obscure was the North Carolina A&T Aggies. A historically black university located in Greensboro, North Carolina became a collegiate home to Larry Jordan, Michael Jordan’s younger brother, during the 1980s. With the colors of Blue and Gold, the Aggies became poised to be the most stylish HBCU in the land.

By 2001, the university had extended its ties with the Jordan Brand as they even changed its name to Jordan University for one day. In addition, various funds and resources were allocated to the school through the Jordan Brand. As of today, the North Carolina A&T Aggies are sponsored by Russell Athletics, but various players still sport Air Jordan silhouettes.
