Today was an exciting day as we began to hone in the final design. Our task is to further develop and refine our four best designs so that we can narrow it down to three. The purpose of this exercise is to force a decision. Often times in design we will design forever, somehow caught in a never-ending cycle of adding and taking away. It is the designer’s curse to problem solve in a beautifully dynamic way, but always think you can do better, if only, you had more time. D’Wayne talks about never being finished designing, but being satisfied, because designers always believe they can do more. No one can be perfect, but you can create a beautiful product that serves its function, which is its own kind of perfect.
