Tory Lanez. We have followed his career from his first mixed tape, to the second, up to the thirteenth and now today, on the eve of his much anticipated first album, we were able to sit down with him to talk fashion and his road to success.
Nice Kicks: On stage and off, what sneakers are in your current rotation?
Tory Lanez: I’m a trend setter not a follower. I wear what I like and that changes constantly.
Nice Kicks: How would you say your style evolved over the years?
Tory Lanez: I think throughout my travel and life experience I have been exposed to new culture. I’m blessed that I can afford to continue to explore fashion.
Nice Kicks: What’s it like to see kids at your shows and kids in Toronto dressed like you?
Tory Lanez: It’s a blessing to have an influence on the kids in the culture in my city.
Nice Kicks: From style to music to advice, what’d you pick up from ASAP Ferg while on tour?
Tory Lanez: FERG is really good about balancing health and wellness on top of his radio promo and shows. I definitely started to think more about my health on the road cuz I’ve been touring so crazy and if I don’t I’ll get sick.
Nice Kicks: You’re well known for your live show and stage presence. How do you prep for a big performance?
Tory Lanez: It’s always a different show every time, you never know what will happen. Just know, I’m going to put my life on the line at every show. I’m going to give you the show you paid to see. No performance is an exception. Expect greatness.
Nice Kicks: A few years back when we spoke, you called yourself being in this position of success. How does it feel now that it’s arrived?
Tory Lanez: Nothing has changed. I’m nowhere near where my definition of success exists. I’m here to be the biggest artist in the world and my success hasn’t arrived until that happens.
Nice Kicks: What do you want fans to takeaway from the new album?
Tory Lanez: That you are aware you’re capable of anything. There is no limit to what we can accomplish. This is my story, so you can understand why I Told You.
Nice Kicks: What can fans expect next from Tory Lanez?
Tory Lanez: Ha! Nice Kicks you already know the answer. You have been down with me from day 1. Expect the unexpected.
