In lieu of Nike’s Mamba Week, the Swoosh has announced the opening its second storefront in Los Angeles and the first within the Watts community. Aside from the obvious availability of sneaker releases and apparel, the opening of the Watts store is a continuation of the brand’s commitment to community engagement.

The Watts Community Store, located on the southwest corner of 97th Street and Alameda Street, will serve as a hub for sport, culture, art, and advocacy.

Nike and the store will be giving back to the community’s youth through partnerships with Mamba League; Students Run LA; Street Soccer USA; Everybody Dance; Girls, Inc. Los Angeles; Peace Players and Jr. Drew League as well as volunteer engagements with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Jordan Downs and
Nickerson Gardens.

The Watts store will celebrate its opening in August 2020 with grants to local organizations serving the Watts community through opportunities for
youth play, sport, physical activity, and wellness. The Watts store is partnering with the East Side Riders Bike Club, Peace4Kids and Watts Rams
Track and Field.

Additional grants will be made on behalf of the Watts store starting in 2021.
