With sights set on speed and sleekness, Stephen Curry’s newest signature model instantly took on a new stance, silhouette and shape from the start.

“This was probably the most technical shoe we’ve done,” admits Under Armour designer Kort Neumann.

Sharp contours atop a synthetic upper rand gave the sneaker a modern look, while the knit construction brought softness and comfort to the forefront of a series that was still searching for its breakthrough design. Though technical in nature, the design carries through a simplified expression.

While he accomplished a host of feats in his first and second models — MVP, NBA Championship, most made 3-pointers, best regular season record, etc, etc — the Curry 4 was rather instantly Stephen’s favorite model to date.

“If you look at the hype around the shoe, and for me, the way it makes you feel on the court, I think we accomplished a lot,” says Curry.
