Forwards dominated this week’s Kicks On Court. We spotted Damien Wilkins rocking a Yankees inspired Nike LeBron 8 V2, and Juwan Howard laced up a classic Air Jordan 5 colorway. Houston Rockets big man Jordan Hill rocked an iconic Charles Barkley sneaker, while Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose (the lone guard in this Fab Five) both wore St. Patrick’s Day themed sneakers. Damien Wilkins has shown his infatuation for LeBron’s signature line by rocking sneakers such as the “Veterans Day” and “China” Nike LeBron 8 throughout this season. He shelved those two for the recently-released “Yankees” Nike LeBron 8 V2. We must applaud Dominque Wilkins’ nephew for debuting this shoe on court.
A lot of NBA players rocked green sneakers throughout the week for St. Patrick’s Day. Derrick Rose finally debuted the “St. Patrick’s Day” adidas adiZero Rose 1.5 on a couple of occasions this week. We are happy to finally see this shoe on court after shuffling through a number of picture galleries.
Former Fab Five member Juwan Howard (who wears jersey #5) laced up the “Fire Red” Air Jordan 5 this past Wednesday. This marks the first time we have seen the “Fire Red” Air Jordan 5 in our Kicks On Court column since it began in 2008. Nice selection, Juwan!
The Jordan Melo M7 has not received the amount of attention that other signatures have garnered (Nike LeBron 8 V2, Nike Zoom Kobe VI, adidas adiZero Rose); yet, Carmelo undoubtedly laced up one of the better colorways seen on this shoe. In detail, Anthony scored 28 points against the Memphis Grizzlies while wearing the “St. Patrick’s Day” Jordan Melo M7.
Nate Robinson is obviously a big fan of the Nike Air Max2 CB 94 seeing that we have spotted him in this shoe numerous times over the past two years. We only get to see him in the all-white pair due to uniform regulations. Therefore, we were excited to see Jordan Hill wear the black/red-white pair on court earlier this week.
