The “Gold Medal” Kobe IVs definitely stood out on the clearance wall at a Nike Outlet in Ohio, and I convinced my mom to stop on a family road trip in 2009. I was in a pick-your-kick dilemma, between these and a simple grey pair of Air Max Classic BW Textiles. That was during the return of the max, and I went with the casual shoe. They’re not impossible to find on eBay, but they’re much more than the $59.99 price tag that I passed on.
