Nike Air Penny IV
I’ll never forget seeing these in the outlets. Around 2000, I had the original Air Max Penny I, two Air Penny IIs and one Air Penny III. The only signature I was missing was the Penny IV. I randomly stopped by the Hillsboro Nike Outlet on my way to Dallas and came across these Penny IVs on the back shelf for $59.99. However, the only sizes they had left, if I recall, were 10, 10.5 and a 13. I wear a 12. I wanted them badly, so I went with a 13. It all worked out because my teammate in high school, who wears a 13, happened to have a Black/White Penny IV in a size 12 that his cousin gave to him a year ago. So, we just swapped sizes, and I wore those, faithfully, for an entire season and in AAU tournaments that summer. It’s still my favorite of the Penny line. I need those all-grey ones now.
