Reebok Question Low White/Yellow

Ever since my cousin Ty gave me a Hakeem Olajuwon jersey back in second grade, I’ve been obsessed with clothes and kicks. Anytime my family traveled, I’d do whatever I could to get us to stop at the nearby outlet mall, the Marshalls on the highway or random sporting goods store that just might have something that local shoppers passed over. While I’ve gotten my share of steals at the outlet, it’s always the ones I pass on that seem to stand out the most. This pair, the Reebok Question Low White/Yellow, is no exception.

By seventh grade, the Reebok Question Low had succeeded the adidas Superstar as the shoe to have. Even though they’d been out for a few years, they still had more juice than the bubbling inline Iversons and took well to seemingly every colorway. I had the “Oatmeals,” Clark had the White/Silver joints and David was all about the orange pair. Coming back from a trip to see family in Crawfordsville that spring, I convinced my folks to stop at the outlet mall in Michigan City, Indiana. The Reebok store was loaded with Question Lows in the White/Yellow colorway and they couldn’t have been any crispier. The leather was plush, the soles were icier than any Air Jordan retro and the suede put to shame that of any material on the market today. My folks must’ve said no or I must not have had my lawn mowing money right because these didn’t get scooped and I’ve since regretted it. Honestly, they would’ve got dogged that summer and there’s no way they’d fit today, but I still wish I would’ve left with one of those blue boxes.

Today’s value: $100
