Kanye West Sues Walmart Over Yeezy Foam Runner Knock-Offs

Kanye West is suing Walmart over selling knock off versions of his adidas Yeezy Foam Runners. The alleged knock-offs are selling for $25 on Walmart.com, two-thirds less than the adidas Yeezy Foam Runner MSRP of $75.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Kanye and Yeezy claim that Walmart manufactured and sold an “unauthorized exact copy” of the Foam Runner and left customers confused about if they’re purchasing the real versions of knock-offs. They also claim that they sent a legal warning to Walmart to take the shoes off of Walmart.com, but haven’t yet, which Kanye and Yeezy claim to be costing hundreds of millions in sales.

A Walmart representative told TMZ in response that “The product referenced in the complaint is not sold by Walmart, but rather by third-party Marketplace sellers. We take allegations like this seriously and are reviewing the claim. We will respond in court as appropriate after we have been served with the complaint.”

Walmart has removed all listings of the knock-off adidas Yeezy Foam Runners on Walmart.com as of Monday. This doesn’t mean Walmart is in the clear yet, with the status of the lawsuit is still unknown. Stay tuned to Nice Kicks for updates as this story is still in development.
