Lately we’ve seen quite a bit of eye-catching sneakers from ASICS, including recent collabs with Naruto Shippuden and Afew. Now, ASICS gives us a sequel to one of their classics with the upcoming ASICS GEL-LYTE III & GT-II “Academic Scholar Pack.”
First released in 2019, the “Academic Scholar Pack” had a traditional classroom color palette. The 2022 revamp of the sneaker pack offers shades that feel a little more sophisticated and prestigious. This latest version also uses the ASICS GEL-LYTE III and ASICS GT-II, rather than the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 26 and ASICS GEL-KAYANO 5 OG. The ASICS GEL-LYTE III OG, known as “Semester 1,” comes dressed in leather and pigskin suede base layers. Deep green hues fill the perforated toe boxes, quarters, and center of the midsoles. For “Semester 2,” the ASICS GT-II uses the same color palette but simplifies the overall look with aged navy suede on the forefoot and green perforated leather on the rear. Hints of yellow appear on the ASICS branding on the tongue and side stripes.
The “Academic Scholar Pack” will be here just in time for graduation. The ASICS Gel-LYTE III OG releases on April 1st for $120. The ASICS GT-II drops in June for $110.
