Lately AFEW and ASICS have had some heavy issues weighing on them with their latest sneaker pack being dedicated to mental health awareness. The AFEW x ASICS GT-II “Uplifting Pack” offers two different colorways of the sneaker and will be raising money for the Deutsche Depressionshilfe organization. Earlier this year AFEW and ASICS also raised money for the Regenbogenland Children’s and Youth Hospice with an AFEW x ASICS Gel Lyte III pack that focused on the beauty of imperfection.
Coming in colorways of “Grey” and “Tan,” this ASICS GT-II has a two-tone upper crafted with suede and corduroy. The “Grey” colorway has light wolf grey on the forefoot with dark smoke grey on the rear. Hairy suede covers the ASICS vector in light wolf grey. The “Tan” colorway opts for a washed beige on the forefoot with brown on the rear. The lining comes ready in tan and adds a soft contrast to the shoe. Both pairs come packaged in a collectors’ box that is covered with a blue sky print. The box design was inspired by the idea of “looking up,” to champion optimism and hope. Brain graphics are also found on the packaging to keep mental health at the center of the collaboration. AFEW and ASICS will be donating 10% of the proceeds to Deutsche Depressionshilfe for mental health services.
