Michael Jordan to Captain Michigan Wolverines Football Team

Jordan Brand isn’t playing around with this “captain” business. After proclaiming Derek Jeter as such for their baseball and training sector, Michigan Wolverines football coach Jim Harbaugh announced on the Rich Eisen Show this weekend that Michael Jordan will be the honorary captain for the team’s season opener this fall.

On September 3rd, against Hawaii, Jordan will act as captain for the team now fully outfitted and endorsed by Jordan Brand – the first of its kind for a football program.

Hopefully this means exclusive footwear and apparel for the game that could potentially be available to the general public. No such announcement has been made as of yet. This is, however, exciting news, as the new partnership will begin to bear fruit almost immediately. Stay tuned.
