Desus vs. Mero is a movement. While they’re picking up steam and becoming well known throughout internet circles due to their trolling of mainstream media and candid takes on pop culture, the Bronx duo is suddenly approaching cult-level status. Their rise has captured the eyes of many, including MTV2, as the pair will soon be regulars on the hit franchise Guy Code and the soon-to-air series Joking Off. Nonetheless, we caught up with the two to get their My 5, in which they detailed some of their favorite kicks ever and those within their respective rotations. The Kid Mero: “Stylistically, my favorite sneaker of all-time is the Nike Air Trainer – the “Bo Jacksons.” Those are my favorite sneaker ever, because growing up everybody was like, “Jordan, Jordan, Jordan…” I grew up in the 90s as a Knicks fans, so I hated Michael Jordan. I actively looked for sneakers that Nike was putting out that weren’t Jordans just to be contrarian, even though the sneakers were dope.”

Desus Nice: “You remember the Shawn Kemp Kamikazes? The first ones? Yeah, those would have to be in there because I was a huge Shawn Kemp fan. He had just done damage on Team USA and I remember my cousin ruined it because he was like, “You know Shawn Kemp has mad children that he’s not taking care of?” Of course my response was, “What does that have to do with basketball?” So, my cousin kind of ruined it for me.”
