MJ’s fourth of the line simply looked ahead of its time. After the first three Air Jordans were simple constructions of leather, the Air Jordan 4 had a futuristic look for 1989. The straps on the side and the lace grids holding them down were added accessories to the cement style and visible air unit introduced by the Jordan 3s. Not only did the AJ4 propel the Air Jordan brand into the future, it also helped the GOAT set a new career-high average for points at 32.5 a night.
