After much speculation surrounding his new footwear partnership, Tyler, the Creator today announces a forthcoming Converse One Star release with a new video campaign.
The smartly curated clip features Tyler being interrogated about his new Converse deal, in which he hilariously deadpans having any knowledge of. Ironically, during the line of questioning, Tyler is actually wearing his limited edition One Star shoe. The clip then quickly transitions to scenes of the shoe being destroyed, set on fire, and numerous other forms of torture.
Tyler’s One Star is said to have been handpicked by the rapper himself and features foundational sock liner graphics found only through this offering. It’s also reported that 2,100 pairs will be given to those who were able to attend last year’s Golf Wang Fashion Show.
The Tyler, the Creator x Converse One Star official release takes place on July 13, online at Golf Wang and Converse. A week later, on July 21, Tyler’s fourth studio album, Scum Fuck Flower Boy, is set to release.
