Pharrell x adidas Originals Superstar “Supercolor” Collection

Arguably Pharrell’s crowing release with adidas Originals prior to today’s Hu Collection, everything surrounding the Superstar “Supercolor” release is memorable. First, there was the now iconic image of P sitting in the middle of all 50 pairs. Holding up one finger, chains dangling from his neck, and a signature brim perched atop his head, the image would be shared millions of times. It birthed a healthy excitement for the new partnership, and gave fans a glimpse into the mind of one of our most prolific creators.
Although subtle on the surface, the Supercolor pack was another way for Williams to unify through design. A concept often spoken to life by another adidas partner Kanye West, when we look the same, we tend to be treated and cared for the same. So aside from helping reintroducing the Superstar during an anniversary year, Pharrell succeeded in connecting people through color and energy.
