The Air Jordan 1.5 “Gorge Green” is Inspired by a Chicago Bulls Divisional Foe

Michael Jordan was extremely lucky when it came to injuries, or lack thereof, throughout his NBA tenure. There was only one real injury to speak of, a broken leg during his second season in the association. But true to his ability to sidestep such ailments, Jordan returned later that season only to lace up in the Air Jordan 1.5.

The shoe was constructed to help his transition back to full strength with Air Jordan 2 tooling, a much more cushion centric shoe than the Air Jordan 1. MJ first wore the shoe against the Bulls’ divisional foe, the Milwaukee Bucks, on March 15, 1986. The Wisconsin sports franchise fittingly inspires the upcoming Air Jordan 1.5 “Gorge Green” edition, which highlights the team’s 80’s color palette represented in Sand Dune, Gorge Green and University Red.
