Media Day saw some familiar faces in familiar places. As expected Derek Fisher returned to the Lakers after flirting with the idea of heading to South Beach and Gilbert Arenas returned to the Washington Wizards after a shortened season. The first sighting of Gil in months saw more than just a new number and beard, it also saw a different brand on his feet. After years and many signatures with adidas it appears Arenas has parted ways with the brand now wearing Nike. Fisher ?was seen in a new brand, wearing adidas at Media Day and practice after years with the Swoosh.

We’ve confirmed with a Nike representative that they have not signed Arenas. Conversely, adidas has confirmed signing Fisher. An avid Anfernee fan growing up, Gilbert appeared at Media Day in the Nike Air Max Penny 1. Fisher has been seen wearing the adidas TS Low Motion after years in the Nike Air Max Tempo and Kobe models as of late. Are you surprised by these moves? Keep checking Nice Kicks and the Kicks On Court column for the latest on these two and their new sneaker choices.
