Prior to the start of the 2012-13 NBA Season, one of the most dynamic players in the league was a sneaker free agent. Russell Westbrook, the Oklahoma City superstar point guard, was a Nike athlete since the start of his his rookie season, and he rocked a plethora of Nike Basketball models, most notably the Hyperfuse, up until the end of the 2011-12 NBA season. During the offseason, there was plenty of speculation as to what brand Westbrook would end up with. Ultimately, Westbrook signed with Jordan Brand, and he has since rocked nice kicks that have made a thunderous noise this season in Kicks on Court. Prior to this photo, there was much speculation on where the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard would land in terms of a sneaker endorsement. This photo surfaced with Westbrook wearing a Thunder-esque colorway of the Air Jordan 1. Before there was an official announcement, it was speculated that the explosive point guard signed with Jumpman. Later that same day, it was formally announced that Russell was on Jordan Brand.
