Rukus Board Shop paired up with Element recently to design this Winslow, which draws inspiration from Baton Rouge’s most famed skate spot, and other elements from around the Louisiana city. Baton Rouge translates to “red stick,” so it was deemed fitting to utilize a red upper, beyond the obvious inspiration taken from the red bricks of the aforementioned spot, the Centroplex. On the underside of the clear outsole, a brick pattern can also be seen. Grey was chosen for the midsole to represent the cement ledges of said spot. Finally, red alligator print appears along both sides of the upper, complementing the suede at the heel and toe, as a further ode to the swamp lands of Louisiana. |
