After stepping away from his Creative Director role at Givenchy last week, it’s to wonder what’s next for acclaimed designer Riccardo Tisci. Aside from a new full-time role, in the very immediate future you can see his work alongside NikeLab with a new collaboration due out this week in conjunction with NYFW.
The NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka x RT is an extension of the work Tisci has done with the brand in the past. He’s widely known for his reshaping of the Air Force 1, which was followed by his first foray into re-imaging the Dunk Hi.
“I think the Dunk has something that’s very special. It’s grounded in sport as well as in the street style culture,” remarked Tisci. “For younger generations it can fit as many different styles tribes as you can imagine. I think it’s one of the most iconic shoes that Nike has ever created.”
Exaggerated proportions like an enlarged Swoosh, expressive foxing and eyestay, help accentuate full-grain leather construction married to a drop-in Lunarlon insole for ultra-soft cushioning and memory foam in the quilted leather collar.
The NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka x RT releases on February 10 at NikeLab at Bergdorf Goodman, NikeLab 21 Mercer, Dover Street Market New York, Kith BK and Concepts NYC. It will be available globally starting February 23 at NikeLab retailers and on nike.com/nikelab.
