Puma’s history in football cannot be understated, having signed a variety of high-profile players and produced several mainstay boots. The brand’s performance focus has primarily been targeted towards their male audience, but with women becoming a key demographic, the attention has shifted towards providing them strong athletic gear. With the introduction of their Faster Football movement, Puma is now offering the Ultra 1.3, a cleat made in both unisex and women’s specific sizing.
Faster Football is Puma’s ticket towards driving positive change across the sport. This drive will be initially started through the Ultra 1.3 Cleat, of which features an abundance of new technology and multiple sizing iterations ensuring on-field success for all athletes. Puma athletes like Antoine Griezmann, Kingsley Coman, Sergio Agüero, Nikita Parris and Eugénie Le Sommer look to wear the cleats this year.
Research into the anatomy of the male and female foot, combined with cross comparison fit testing, formed the basis to develop our Women-specific ULTRA said Lilly Cocks, Senior Developer Teamsport Footwear. The Women’s-edition features a regular to narrow silhouette shape, a lower instep, reduced midfoot volume and conical studs. By removing more volume from the upper we have created a boot that is more tailored to the anatomical shape of the female foot.”Lilly Cocks – Senior Developer Teamsport Footwear
Both unisex and women’s versions of the Puma Ultra 1.3 Football Boot are slated to launch globally on July 22 in Puma stores and other select retailers, with the women’s iteration and unisex iteration available for pre-sale now.
