Jay Chou, the supporting actor who plays Kato in the recently released Green Hornet movie, is also owns the PHANTACi apparel shop in Taipei; therefore, it was only right for him to be involved in a Green Hornet inspired sneaker collaboration. New Balance stepped in a collaborated with PHANTACi on the ever-so-popular MT580 model. This Friends & Family release is one of the better MT580s we have seen and features a ton of intriguing, hornet inspired attributes. In detail, a honeycomb-like design appears throughout the side panels and on a small part of the collar. The rest of the upper is primarily comprised of black patent leather, while minimal green hints appear in the form of the laces, inner lining, tongue and Green Hornet hangtag. Other features include a mask debray, a PHANTACi logo, pink tongue branding and a special Green Hornet insole. Only 12 pairs were made. View detailed photos below.
