Attention all aspiring shoe designers: Lace Up: The Ultimate Sneaker Challenge, a show in collaboration with YouTube Red, is creating a “suggestion box” where anyone can enter and showcase their designs in which seven artists will be chosen to receive a scholarship to attend Pensole Footwear Design Academy.
The show will have a multitude of guests artists to evaluate the shoes such as Stan Smith, James Harden, Eddie Huang and many more. Its founder, Dwayne Edwards, left Jordan Brand as Footwear Design Director to start Pensole Academy. Edwards even selected 12 aspiring designers from around the world to come to Pensole and compete to design a shoe for James Harden and ultimately earn a design job at adidas.
