About Nike Basketball

Although Nike started as a footwear running company, the Swoosh’s impact on hardwood can’t go unnoticed.

From Michael Jordan and the beginning of the Air Jordan line to the golden age of performance basketball in the mid to late ’90s, Nike Basketball has been at the top of the food chain.

Kyrie Irving and his Nike deal have been a topic of conversation in recent years. While Kyrie has been known for his on-court performance and his iconic signature shoe line, it was announced in January 2022 that Nike has suspended its relationship with the NBA star.

The Kyrie Irving and Nike partnership began in 2014 with the release of the Nike Kyrie 1. With the success of the first model, the Nike Kyrie line continued to release new iterations each year, including the Nike Kyrie 2, Nike Kyrie 3, Nike Kyrie 4, Nike Kyrie 5, Nike Kyrie 6, Nike Kyrie 7, and Nike Kyrie Infinity.

Throughout the years, the Nike Kyrie line has seen several iconic colorways and designs, including the Nike Kyrie 4 “Confetti,” the Nike Kyrie 5 “Taco,” and the Nike Kyrie 6 “Bruce Lee.”

However, despite the success of the Nike Kyrie line and the popularity of the shoes, Nike suspended their relationship with Kyrie Irving in early 2022.

While Kyrie Irving is no longer a Nike athlete, his Nike Kyrie line of shoes continues to be popular among sneaker enthusiasts and basketball players alike. The latest model in the line is the Nike Kyrie 8, which was slated to release in 2022 and never did.

The Nike Kyrie 8 features a sleek design with a breathable upper and a responsive sole. The shoe also includes a unique lacing system that allows for a customizable fit, and the Zoom Air cushioning provides superior comfort and support on the court.
