Nike Debuts the Ja 3, Ja Morant’s Latest Signature Shoe

Ja Morant and Nike are back, and they’re not holding anything back. With the unveiling of the Nike Ja 3, the Memphis Grizzlies star continues to shake up the sneaker world—fusing bold aesthetics with purpose-driven performance. This latest signature silhouette doesn’t just complement Morant’s explosive play style—it tells his story before he even steps on the hardwood.

With the Nike Ja 3, Morant made his vision clear to the Nike design team: “I needed something that talks before I even lace it up.” The result is a sneaker that feels just as audacious and versatile as Morant’s game. With a rugged yet refined upper, the Nike Ja 3 sports a dynamic textural pattern featuring an enlarged version of Ja’s monogram, delivering a layered design narrative packed with personality.

The upper features a lightweight mesh for breathability, while vertical “scratch” elements—an evolving motif in the Ja line—bring functional flair. These abrasions cut into the upper to enhance airflow while reinforcing key areas with Kurim overlays for added durability. Nike’s thoughtful detailing here is more than cosmetic; it’s engineered to move with Ja’s quick cuts and explosive transitions.

Morant’s signature bulldog crossover inspired a new kind of traction. The bulldog micro traction pattern, found on the outsole, is designed to grip the floor hard when you change direction. Combined with a translucent rubber cupsole, the outsole lets you peek into the sneaker’s soul—where full-length ZoomX foam, layered over ZoomX scrap, provides elite-level cushioning and responsiveness.

“I’m reading the game way better now — slowing it down when I need to, attacking when I see the opening,” Morant shared. “The Ja 3 matches that. It’s got that balance: Speed when I need it, control when I need to switch gears.”

Morant debuted the Nike Ja 3 “Max Volume” in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Expect a Fall 2025 release for the general public.
