Earlier this evening in New York City, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, Charles Barkley and Penny Hardaway sat down with Kyrie Irving at a livestreaming event to unveil his first signature shoe, the Nike KYRIE 1.

Joining an elite fraternity, Kyrie’s signature shoe puts him in the same company as Michael Jordan, Sheryl Swoopes, LeBron James and other top-tier hoopers from the Swoosh. His first signature shoe packs many personal details, including a nod to his late mother and also his personal mantra, JBY, or “just be yourself.”

Kyrie’s logo adorns the tongue tagging on his first signature, with an aggressive design likening his playing style. Hyperfuse and mesh compose the upper for a lightweight fit, while Zoom Air and Phylon cover the cushioning for a low to the ground, responsive feel. Jagged styling on the outsole take to Kyrie’s quick cuts and trademark first step, while also drawing inspiration from the Australian flag (his place of birth) and the Sydney Opera House. A black-based “Dream” colorway carries graphic lining and vibrant underlays, while a “Deceptive Red” rendition relies on the topic tone in bold fashion.

Designed by Leo Chang, look for Kyrie Irving to debut the Nike KYRIE 1 tomorrow night in the Cavs game against the New York Knicks. The Nike KYRIE 1 launches on December 23rd in the “Dream” colorway, with the “Deceptive Red” makeup dropping on January 10th.
