This February is the thirty-fifth celebration of Black History Month, and in honor of the tradition, Nike is releasing a number of “Black History Month” kicks. This Air Force 1 Premium is one of the highlights of the group, thanks its to its detail-heavy design. The upper features a special print on every panel, save for the tumbled leather toe box, midfoot and Swoosh, that looks hand rendered and is done in a subtle black-on-black print. To match the contrast stitching that’s used throughout, the back collar panel is a bright metallic gold leather. The BHM logo Nike designed for this year appears on said panel, as well as on the left insole. Continuing with the “Call to Greatness” theme that was used for this year’s BHM kicks, “Overcome the odds. Make an impact on your sport. Change the world.” is emblazoned on the right insole. This sneaker drops on Saturday, February 12th, at select retailers, including Nice Kicks.
