Looks like 2023 might be a big year for the Nike Air Foamposite One as news of the “Metallic Red” colorway going to be released next year and now a rare Penny Hardaway PE colorway is releasing for the first time according to Sole Retriever.
First seen on Penny’s feet in a game against the Chicago Bulls in 1997, the sneaker has some modifications compared to the PE and uses a white Foamposite upper with a black mesh tongue and bootie with the lace overlays seen in black leather instead of nubuck. The iconic Penny logo is stitched on the heel with a jeweled take on the tongue and a mini Swoosh appearing on the lateral side of the toe. A carbon fiber shank plate is utilized for rigidity with a full-length Zoom Air setup for impact protection. Lastly, a herringbone outsole with translucent rubber surrounding it finishes off the sneaker.
The Nike Air Foamposite One PE “White” is scheduled to drop in 2023 via SNKRS and at select retailers for $240. Check out the mock-up and photos of Penny rocking them on court below and for all the latest drop dates, head over to our Sneaker Release Dates page.
