As a current sneaker free agent, Lakers wing Nick Young is weighing his offers this week, and hopes to make a decision soon on his next shoe deal.

“I’m looking to sign,” Swaggy P recently confirmed to Nick Metallinos. “Hopefully by the end of this week.”

A longtime Nike athlete since entering the league, Young has been known as one of our Kicks On Court staples for years, wearing everything from rare Foamposites to vintage LeBrons to decade-old Jordans. Some of which even exploded right in the middle of a game.

Thanks to the recent momentum of adidas though, his negotiations have opened up to more than just Nike, and it seems there’s a very real chance Swaggy P could make the jump. He was wearing Yeezy 950s over the weekend in New York.

“We’re in conversations,” confirms a source at adidas.

When asked what trends in the footwear world he could see on the horizon, perhaps Nick also hinted at where he’s leaning towards signing his next shoe deal.

“I think the adidas wave right now is going to be in for awhile,” Young firmly says. “Nike gotta catch up.”

You can see the full interview with Nick Metallinos below, with the Nike line coming at the very end.

Stay tuned for updates on Swaggy P’s sneaker free agency, as we’ll have more once he officially decides in the coming days. Be sure to let us know in the comments section below and on Twitter where you’d like to see him sign.
