New Balance 998 Men’s Suit Collection

The next collection set to release from the New Balance Super Team 33 Project is the Men’s Suit Collection. This collection will feature the New Balance 998 dressed for work with details both inside and outside of the shoe. Beginning with the shoe???s interior, each shoe is lined with a traditional pinstripe pattern, representative of a dress shirt most commonly worn underneath a suit jacket. The leather, croc-embossed detailing on the outer was imagined from men???s leather dress gloves and the gloss markings on the sole unit were inspired by a man???s dress belt. The ???N??? on each shoe features a subtle tortoiseshell pattern derived from similarly patterned eyeglasses. Each pair of Men???s Suit Collection shoes comes with two sets of shoelaces, one set symbolizing a men???s striped suit tie finished with a gold-colored/silver-colored lace-tip complete with ST33 collection script and a small crystal gemstone in each lace evocative of cuff links. The second set of laces is solid in color finished with clear lace-tips.

The Men???s Suit Collection details include signature embroidery on the tongue of each shoe in addition to a collection tag, similar to a suit label found on the inner breast pocket of a suit, stitched into the supple calfskin leather insole bearing the Super Team 33 Limited Edition signature. A specialty shoebox, inspired by cigar, chocolate, and jewelry boxes, is velvet-lined and includes a flannel wrap with a Super Team 33 screenprint, as would be expected on high end dress footwear.

Like all shoes that are part of the Super Team 33 Project, these were constructed by hand in the USA at New Balance’s factory in Skowhegan, Maine. Look for these in Super Team 33 doors mid-September for $200.
