Los Angeles’ very own Museum of Contemporary Art partners with Vans for the first time ever on a two-drop limited edition release. The MOCA x Vans Collection is a 4-piece sneaker pack that celebrates culture, creativity, and California roots.
MOCA leads the way in creating a space for contemporary art to expand further than ever before. Since the beginning of 2020, MOCA has made general admission to the museum free of charge, allowing people from an array of socioeconomic backgrounds to connect with art. Much like MOCA, Vans has always extended themselves to be available to all, making this partnership grounded in community.
The MOCA x Vans Collection features a Classic Slip-On, Sk8-Hi, Authentic, and EVDNT UltimateWaffle. The museum pairs its signature color blocking with graphic art from Ivan Chermayeff & Tom Geismar, circa 1980. The Classic Slip-On boasts MOCA’s iconic logo and blue checkerboard print. The Vans EVDNT UltimateWaffle also boasts the MOCA logo, printed in black on the side of the all-white sneakers. The Sk8-Hi has a similar makeup to the Classic Slip-On with a white canvas base. A bright red heel counter adds detail to the upper and nods to MOCA’s signature red triangle. Perhaps the most notable pair of the bunch, the Vans Authentic completes the collection with eye-catching green dots and “Museum of Contemporary Art” wrapped around the midsole.
This 4-piece sneaker pack is just the first part of the MOCA x Vans Collection and is set to launch in November. A second drop that includes apparel is expected to follow shortly. The sneakers will be available to purchase from Vans.com and select retailers. Be sure to check back with our Sneaker Release Dates page for updated info.
