Nice Kicks: I recently noticed that some of your customs were worn during Super Bowl 48, how were you able to get some of the Seattle Seahawks customs considering you are based in Miami?

SolesBySir: The way I got to Seattle was Nolan Carroll’s backup, Jamar Taylor, went to Boise State. His teammate at Boise was Jerron Johnson, who plays for Seattle, and Johnson was the first one to order. Once he orders it, he gets hurt in the process of ordering. I still send the cleats anyway, and Marshawn Lynch see’s Jeron Johnson open the box and offers him like $1,000 or $2,000 just to wear them during the Monday night game. Johnson was like, “I can’t do it, I can’t sell it to you, it has my initials on it.” So, Jeron gives Marshawn my information and Marshawn calls me.

Nice Kicks: What was the process like working with Marshawn Lynch?

SolesBySir: Marshawn called me and says he wants “Beast Mode.” He didn’t care about the fine, he actually wrote the check for the fine ahead of time. I did his “Beast Mode” ones and he was super superstitious and he wore them against New Orleans. He had a good game and he calls me asking to re-paint the same shoe. And I’m like, “Of course I can, man!”
